AKD Group shines at CPEC Summit & Expo 2018 held in Karachi

The two-day CPEC Summit & Expo kicked off at Karachi’s Bagh-i-Jinnah on this Monday. The event is one of the biggest events to be held in the country on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor aiming to educate the public about the objectives of CPEC and its Umbrella project, the Belt and Road Initiative.

The AKD Group and The Arkadians, which are owned by Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, participated in the summit as the shining representatives of Pakistan’s rising real estate and securities business. The company highlighted the main areas of investment and development to the Chinese companies and delegates in the summit. Along with the AKD group, many other leading business ventures and authorities attended this summit as ambassadress, appreciating the importance of this joint initiative of China and Pakistan.

The first session that took place on the first day of the Summit was also attended by various speakers, including Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing. There was a separate part of the session where representatives from all four provinces talked about the view of CPEC from their respective province.

Planning Minister, Ahsan Iqbal talked about the positive changes that took place in the tenure of PML – N’s rule. He discussed the importance of Belt and Road initiative and termed it a huge opportunity, “Pakistan will become a hub of development with the help of this project. We made regional connectivity a key component of our Vision 2025 project.”

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, addressed the session in the following words,

"Three years ago CPEC was unheard of — today it is known globally. The BRI initiative of Chinese President Xi is a project for generations," he said, "Recently, we discussed security and connectivity with Afghanistan, which also recognises CPEC as an opportunity."

Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing also participated in the session speaking about the progress of CPEC.

"We look at CPEC as a significant project. I'm proud that after five years of implementation, it [CPEC] has contributed to Pakistan's development."
