Aqeel Karim Dhedhi: An Idealist
“A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business”- Henry Ford. This statement is often not applied to any business but there are still a few names in business industries that are doing some great business apart from doing just ‘their businesses’. And when it comes to the real deal, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi
is the man in this race.
The brand name for the economic industry of Karachi, AKD – a competitor yet an inspiration for everyone out there, has few his fingers dipped in everything, cutting himself a piece of every pie. But his diverse business roots and investments are not just a means of making money and getting rich. He is a man of honor and a true idealist. Other than the business he has done a lot of such things which are solely selfless.
Here are a few things which make him something more than just a robust business tycoon in the real world.
AKD’s believe in empowering women
AKD’s take on women empowerment is nothing like nobody knows it. He strongly believes that the women’s role in the business industry is requisite and notable. Being an insightful father, he always encouraged his daughters to step into his business. And thus, today his entire business empire including AKD Securities, AKD Investment and AKD Constructions
respectively are reported to be under his daughters lead.
AKD supporting and encouraging youth
“Business is about more than just money. It is about ideas” says the tycoon. AKD is merely a self-made businessman. He understands the lack of resources as a major setback for the students and newbies trying to bring innovation and advancement. Therefore, his venture capital company known as TMT Ventures gives money to graduates and students with innovative ideas, looking for capital to fund their start-ups. He emphasizes upon not selling the intellectual property for the sake of a few bucks.
AKD’s strong religious values
He is a man of values and faith when it comes to religion. He believes in holding on to his Lord and rests his trust in Him only. Every week or so, he organizes ijtemaas
and gatherings with well-known religion scholars and preachers. He considers his interactions with these men of religion as a way to better understand his faith, on personal terms, and also as his contribution to reconciling divergent Sunni traditions. He has also known to have laid the foundation of a number of mosques around all over the country.
AKD’s serving humanity
Aqeel Kareem Dhedhi is more of a philanthropist than just a businessman. He has been serving the humanity since he established his grounds in the industry. He serves as the member of the board of directors of several welfare organizations. The man is believed to see the pain of suffering, thus he has always stood firm on the issues of social injustice. In the hard times of disasters and calamities, he went out of his way to give food and shelter.
AKD honoring his community
Aqeel Kareem Dhedhi is known to be a prominent and honored member of Memon Community. He has large social interactions ad good terms with people within his community. He believes to adhere to his culture and traditions values and is strongly influenced by them. AKD dedicates a part of his earnings to his community by running his school and hospital in kharadar
– where a large number of Memons live. He also fosters a community newspaper Memon Awaaz.
AKD’s love for breeding animals
He generally keeps no pets due to religious reasons but he is very fond of livestock. He spends a little amount of his fortune on buying expensive cows and bulls from all over the world. Every year on Eid-ul-Adha, the annual Mawaishi Mela
takes place at his house, where a large number of people gather to see his animal show. Raising and breeding slaughter animals is a culture heirloom he takes pride in.
Somebody has said it true that 'business is a combination of war and sport'. AKD has been wrongly accused of scam and fraud but little we know about his life and passions. He started from zero and today he is on the top of Pakistan Business.
