Aqeel Karim Dhedhi Is Ambitious To Control Water Scarcity

Pakistan is facing severe water crisis which is likely to rise in coming years. However, in this alarming situations, some politicians are still busy throwing mud on each other. It has been anticipated that Pakistan will face the shortage of 31 million acre-feet of water by 2025. In such circumstances, few leaders also in opposition to the water sorting infrastructure which has ultimately made the word “Dam” highly controversial.

Not only this, farmers are likely to face water-shortage that will eventually affect their crops growth which ultimately will reduce the production and affect the agricultural export.

But still, there are some people who are working hard to make Pakistan’s future brighter just like famous philanthropist and owner of AKD Group Aqeel Karim Dhedhi. Recently he has started a nationwide campaign named “Hum Aur Aab” to spread awareness about the ongoing water crisis. Not only on Twitter and Facebook, but his team has also started awareness sessions in schools to make each and every student awareness about the importance of water and how they can save it by organizing some water saving challenges.

While addressing to the Korangi Association of Trade on Tuesday, the Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail said that Pakistan has the vast resources of minerals and we are going to start a project to get benefit from it. He also recalled the Karachi Package, which was previously announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan. This Karachi Project includes five packages Water Treatment Plant, Desalination Plant, Green Line Project, Northern Bypass and Circular Railway.

Along with Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, this event was attended by S.M Muneer the Patron-in-Chief of KAIT, Danish Khan, the President and Faraz-ur-Rehman the senior vice President of KAIT. Along with the CEO of KITE Zubair Chhaya and FPCCI Vice President Zahid also shared their views in the meeting.

The Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail also highlighted the importance of working with Karachi Water Board in order to rectify the water supply system in Karachi. He also added that previously the water resources have been used carelessly not even in Karachi but nationwide so, now the team will deal it as a humanitarian issue. He also assured everyone to resolve the gas supply issue by communicating with SSGC.

He also asked the panel support for the newly elected government of PTI. Whereas, the business tycoon Aqeel Karim Dhedhi always showed his support to the new government.
