Aqeel Karim Dhedhi’s Annual Cattle Show and His Love for Cows

The Bakra-e-Eid season is here and is in full swing. Muslims all across the country and around the world are all ready to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with full religious zeal. In all the regions of Pakistan especially in cities like Karachi and Lahore, the craze for Eid animals can be seen on the roads and in animal markets such as Sohrab Goth Mandi and Bhains Colony. In Karachi, also known as the ‘City of Lights’, the residents get variety of animals to sacrifice on the day of Eid.

Allah has blessed his people with much wealth this season demands everyone to spend wholeheartedly on the animals for sacrifice. Cows, goats, camels, sheeps, and what not, people get their hands on many animals they love. Such is the case with Aqeel Karim Dhedhi as well who expresses his love for the religious festival by organizing an annual cattle show each year. Almost all the meat of his sacrificing animals and AKD cows is distributed among those in need.

In big cities, many renowned business tycoons and wealthy people organize cattle shows at their residences or other areas. If you haven’t seen the cattle show held at Aqeel Karim Dhedhi house yet, then you haven’t seen the traditional beauty of Eid-ul-Adha yet. Hundreds of cows and goats from Thar, Cholistan and Sahiwal are brought in this cattle show which is attended by thousands of visitors. One thing to note here is that entry is free for whole public without any discrimination and all the meat is distributed among those in need. Every AKD cow is worth seeing at the festival.

All the visitors take selfies and photos with the animals to show their love for them. If anything, this auspicious religious festival turns out to be an event that everyone loves. From children to teeangers and women to elderly, every person feels great around Eid-ul-Adha.

Talking about the animals, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi is known for getting cows and goats from countries like Turkey and Afghanistan. There are Yaks, the ones you can find in Himalayan region in the northern areas of Pakistan. Each AKD cow is taken care of by experienced people at the cattle show.

The best part about this annual cattle show is that most of the meat obtained from sacrificing these animals is distributed among the underprivileged community which cannot afford animals of their own.

Aqeel Karim Dhedhi is already known for his incredible welfare work. He is a trustee and member of the Board of Directors of  The Indus Hospital, The Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital and World Memon Organization, organizations which facilitate the needy with health and social needs.
