Pakistan Outranks India in 4G Internet Speed Rankings

The telecom and communications industry have recently flourished in Pakistan and the results are now clear. According to recent rankings issued by Ookla in its Speedtest Global Index, Pakistan has better mobile broadband as compared to India.

As per the rankings issued by Ookla, Pakistan managed to grab 96th place in the chart while India stood at the 109th spot. However, it is important to notice that Pakistan has lost five places while India climbed up four points when compared to previous rankings.

The average download speed for mobile broadband around the world is 23.54 Mbps and the average upload speed is 9.28 Mbps. Pakistan has a download speed of 14.03 Mbps while the upload speed is 8.85 Mbps. Whereas, India has a download speed of 9.12 Mbps and an upload speed of 3.12 Mbps.

It is quite surprising that the United States of America and the United Kingdom do not rank in the top 10 countries. The country on 1st position is Qatar with a download speed of 63.22 Mbps. Norway, UAE, Singapore, Iceland, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Hungary, and Belgium secured second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions, respectively.

As of now, the mobile network providers Mobilink, Warid, Telenor, and Long are offering 4G internet services. While Warid and Telenor are the only providers offering 4G LTE services across Pakistan.
