Pakistan Plans to Set Up 100-acre Weaving City in Faisalabad

The country’s first weaving city shall be set up in M3 Industrial State located in Faisalabad. The weaving city which stretches over a 100-acre land will consist of all the weaving units.

On Friday, a meeting was held between Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) and the All Pakistan Cotton Power Looms Association (APCPA) at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed to build this weaving city.

The textile industry in Pakistan has been in a troublesome situation lately. But, darkness never prevails forever and there always is a ray of hope. Faisalabad is greatly a predominant textile city and there are more than 140 textile industries located in this city.

Mian Adrees, the FIEDMC chairman, and Amir Saleemi, the CEO attended the ceremony along with other members of both the committees. FCCI President Shabbir Hussain Chawla said on the occasion that the improved technology will help the power looms sector to produce standard export-quality clothes which will help us in attracting potential buyers from all around the world and will also increase our exports.

APCPA’s Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz said that this project will provide plenty of jobs to the locals of Faisalabad city.
