The story of Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi (AKD)

Pakistan is full of people who are talented, people whose lives formed new dimensions, people who overcame hardest obstacles, people with their great success stories and people who have dedicated their lives to Pakistan and its citizens. These are known as legends and among us, we have another person who has a great role in Pakistan’s stock exchange. A name which is echoed in every business. A name which has climbed the huge ladders of success and fame. This name is Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, the tycoon (also known as AKD).

He is a famous business tycoon, popular for its shares in the stock market.

The services AKD provides are telecom, financial services, manufacturing, infrastructure and natural resources.

He had a great role in saving lives of people who were affected by the earthquake in 2005.

The name and its story:

When Dhedhi was in the seventh standard he started his first business with his brother. As a young child, he was very fond of doing a business as he grew up seeing his father Abdul Karim Dhedhi (Late) doing great business dealings and establishing many businesses into solid ones. This always had an influence on the young son and sooner when he grew up he made his dream come true. Dhedhi’s biggest inspiration was his father and following his steps ultimately made him climb the success stairs. Mr. Abdul was the one who started his journey in the stock exchange and Aqeel Karim Dhedhi further established his father’s business. He turned it into a legacy and even today he proves it. This all started in 1976, he started trading in Karachi Stock Exchange and later by 1984 he built his own office there. Indeed, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi’s hard work paid off. Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi often regrets not paying attention to his educational life, but he still with great experience and his intelligence he still managed to be the “King of Stock” and “Market’s Man” which is huge. The reputable business tycoon has served Pakistan’s economy on a big scale. Much of the economic growth occurred because of him. After baring great losses and facing many obstacles Dhedhi decided to stay devoted and confident about himself, today he owns several companies all under one umbrella.

He owns TMT Ventures which provides financial help to young enthusiastic business leaders, especially students. He firmly believes intellectual intelligence must not be affected because of low budget.

He strongly believes in women empowerment hence has distributed his companies to his daughters, they are following his lead and are running the companies pretty smoothly.

He honors his community and its values hence dedicated his earnings to the schools and hospitals of his community. Furthermore, fosters the newspaper “Memon Awaaz”.

Every year he takes pride in breeding animals for Eid ul Adha, he hosts Mawaishi Mela where people gather to see the great show of his great animals.
