Team With Pakistani Scientist Makes Huge Breakthrough for a Cancer Cure

Yet another Pakistani scientist makes the country proud with his incredible scientific achievement. Muhammad Waqas Usman Hingoro, who hails from Lyari, has discovered a mechanism that can cure various types of cancer.

Hingoro, who is an award-winning scientist, has been working on to find a solution to the treatment of cancer with his team of international cancer biologists, has finally unleashed a method which can save hundreds of thousands of precious lives.

His team’s findings have concluded that “Extracellular Vesicles (EVs)” which are an important component of red blood cells (RBCs), can carry drug delivery nanoparticles (NPs) to cancer affected parts in human body. His work tells that extracellular vesicles can transfer many types of drugs in the form of RNA, DNA or proteins to certain parts of body hence, can be used to treat many types of cancer.

Nature Communication, world’s leading science journal, has published his marvellous research titled as “Efficient RNA drug delivery using red blood cell-extracellular vesicles” in its latest edition.

Usman Hingoro was born and raised in Lyari, a local town in Karachi. He got his Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory from Zainul Abideen School of Medical Technology in the year 2010 after which he joined Aga Khan University for further research purposes.

On June 16, 2018, he was awarded the best prize at the International Symposium of Graduate Students by “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Biomedical Sciences Forum” for his marvellous findings in the field of biology.
